On World Health Day, April 7, 2026, the WICCI National Women’s Mental Health and Wellness Council is moving beyond traditional clinical silos to explore a broader vision for women’s mental health and wellbeing.
Under the leadership of National President Dr. Aninda Sidhana, the Council is advancing its mission through the APEIO Model, a five-pillar framework that brings together advocacy, prevention, education, intervention and outreach.
The approach recognises that mental wellbeing is shaped not only by clinical care, but also by culture, awareness, community, technology and the ability to speak openly about lived experiences.
The Council’s mission is built around five interconnected pillars designed to connect psychiatric expertise with community awareness, education, advocacy and digital innovation.
Advocacy focuses on transforming lived experiences and personal narratives into meaningful institutional conversations and policy discussions.
Prevention addresses cultural stigma, social pressures and structural barriers before they become deeper obstacles to mental wellbeing.
Education aims to bring mental health literacy directly into communities, making conversations around emotional wellbeing more accessible and understandable.
Intervention combines clinical expertise with compassionate and trauma-informed approaches that support recovery and restore individual agency.
Outreach extends these conversations beyond traditional healthcare environments, reaching communities across urban centres, rural areas and underserved populations.
The vision brings together perspectives from mental health, leadership, technology, media, research and social advocacy to create a wider conversation around women’s mental wellbeing.
The initiative places clinical expertise alongside lived experience, cultural understanding and digital innovation, recognising that meaningful mental health progress requires participation from multiple areas of society.
The leadership vision combines clinical understanding, institutional experience and technological thinking to explore how modern tools can support more accessible and dignified mental health conversations.

Mental health conversations do not exist within clinical environments alone. Culture, representation and public visibility can influence how individuals understand wellbeing, stigma and inclusion.
The Council brings together prominent voices to help carry these conversations into broader public spaces.

The World Health Day message brings together the different dimensions of the initiative: science, clinical care, technology, storytelling and community engagement.
The goal is to create a more complete understanding of mental wellbeing, where professional expertise does not exist separately from the personal experiences and stories of the people seeking support.
National President, WICCI National Council
The conversation around women’s mental health is becoming broader than diagnosis and treatment. It includes prevention, education, social inclusion, digital privacy, community outreach and the right to be heard.
The APEIO Model brings these dimensions together within one framework, connecting professional expertise with the realities of everyday life.
On World Health Day 2026, the message is therefore not simply about creating awareness. It is about strengthening the conversations, systems and communities that can support mental wellbeing, dignity and resilience.
